Classes are offered in our heated facility on rubber agility flooring.​    


Prerequisites for all agility classes:

  • Dogs must be sound and in appropriate condition for athletic activities.
  • Dogs must be able to work around other dogs. 
  • Dogs must have strong basic manners skills.
  • Dogs with reactive or aggression issues are not appropriate for this class.


WELLNESS FORM
A wellness form is required if your dog has been in your possession for less than 3 months.
Why we require a wellness form
We have instituted our policy to help avoid the spread of any illness or parasites that may not have been obvious  to your puppy/dog arriving in your home.

Agility 2

4 Week class $100.00 (one dog and one handler) 

For dogs 1.5 years and up.

      Class Goal

  • Enhance timing and skills for competing on the

          upper levels classes of the various agility venues


      Class Content

  • This class will focus on performing intermediate  to upper level courses 
  • Drills for enhancing skills
  • ​Reading and setting the dogs line


      Prerequisites

  • Dogs should have skills to perform ALL agility equipment
  • Teams should be prepared to work complex and challenging upper level courses
  • Dogs must be able to be crated for walk throughs

Beginning  Agility 1, 2 & 3

4 Week class $100.00 (one dog and one handler) 

For dogs 6 month and up.

      Class Goal

  • Level 1 introduces foundation skills, builds team connection and confidence
  • Level 2 Enhancing and utilizing foundation skills through drills and short courses
  • Level 3 Drills and courses to enhance and increase skills  

      Additional Goals for all levels

  • Provide education regarding physiology and safety to support  the dogs well being
  • Provide education about agility organizations and triaing


      Class Content

  • Level 1
  • Foundation games to build confidence and teamwork
  • Introduction to equipment jumps, hoops, tunnels, table and weave poles
  • Introduction to handler maneuvers
  • Level 2
  • Drills and short courses designed to build a well connected team and performance
  • Contact equipment training

          (A frame, dog walk and see saw)

  • Level 3
  • Working drills and courses incorporating Level 1 & 2 Skills


  • Prerequisites
  • Level 1 - Dogs must have strong basic manners and be comfortable working in a room with other dogs.
  • Level 2 - Dogs must have taken Level 1 or have similar experience and permission from the instructor
  • Level 3 - Dogs and Handlers must have taken Level 2 or have similar experience and permission from the instructor.

Agility with Sumac
Sumac Grant-Johnson is a certified agility instructor as well as a certified professional dog trainer. She has been involved with the sport of agility for over 20 years. Sumac places top priority on the dog's safety and building a strong team connection through an experience that is fun for both dog and handler. Sumac currently competes with her Border Collie, Sparrow at the Masters level of USDAA as well as CPE and Wag It Games Agility.

Agility 1

  • Enhance skills for competing on novice to intermediate level courses of the various agility venues
  • Enhance and expand handling skills               (Including the more traditional and One Mind Dog Techniques)
  • Build walk through and handling selection skills
  • Build equipment commitment and independence performance for distance work
  • Reading and setting the dogs line
